The ratio is 1 part rice to 2 1/4 parts water/broth. Allow water to boil, add 1 tablespoon of butter and a pinch of salt (if desired). Stir in rice and reduce to low heat. Simmer in covered pan for 30-40 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.
