"Sol Refill needs merch," they say. "Hell no," I say. Like the world needs more items, especially with a brand...
But, these hats have been percolating for a long time. Now they seem to be an *appropriate* reminder. When it seems dark, find the sun.
We are proud to work with Leslie Benigni of Les Is More 894, a small, disabled woman-owned business based in Wilkinsburg, PA. She specializes in whimsical, one-of-a-kind hand-embroidered creations made of 100% recycled or secondhand materials, from the fabric to the floss.
She hand-stitches the words on the front and back of a pigment-dyed dad hat. One size fits most. Because these are dyed and then created by hand, variations will occur.
... and have you ever felt for anything
such wild love–
do you think there is anywhere, in any
language,
a word billowing enough
for the pleasure
that fills you,
as the sun
reaches out,
as it warms you
as you stand there,
empty-handed–
or have you too
turned from this world–
or have you too
gone crazy
for power,
for things?
